Well, after installing the latest Winamp (v5.56), WinampAC3 simply doesn't work anymore. Actually, it makes Winamp crash at start ! (Error signature: AppName: winamp.exe App.Ver: 5.5.6.2512 ModName: in_winampac3.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000fc73). Tried on Windows XP SP3... also tried to remove the winamp.ini, reinstalled... nothing works.

Please help !

It seems you have incorrect build of Winamp which conflicts. Official 5.56 version works fine with WinampAC3.
Try to uninstall Winamp and then again install it (download full official version) together with AC3Filter.
Say if problem still persists or not.

There really is a problem here. I downloaded Winamp 5.56 from the link in the previous post.

At first, it appeared to work. However, if you:
a) Associate .DTS files with Winamp, via General Preferences>File Types;
b) Associate .DTS files with Winamp, via Windows Explorer>Open With;
c) Open a .DTS file with another program, such as VLC;
Winamp refuses to load, returning a memory error. The only way to get Winamp to run again is to disable the WinampAC3 plugin.

I am getting desperate to find a solution to this problem. VLC is also useless when it comes to playing .DTS files encoded at 44.1KHz. I just wish someone could come up with an answer  Angry

Ok. Now uninstall WinampAC3 1.20a (you're using this very version isn't it?) and try WinampAC3 v1.01a..

Same trouble, I'm sorry to say. It also happens on my other pc:
Windows XP Pro SP3
Gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6
Q9550
4GB RAM
Sapphire Radeon HD4850
Realtek Azalia Audio

In the meantime, I have now found a program that will play my 44.1 KHz .DTS WAVs and CDs...

Hi there,

Any chance of a fix for using WinampAC3 1.20a / WinAmp 5.x for DTS playback WITH modern skin support?

Anyone knows if this is a WinAmp error or a WinampAC3 error?

There is significant differences in layout and functions between basic and modern WinAmp skins that do matter, especially when used on a HTPC with remote control, so we really like to be able to combine that with this really great plugin!
