Hi ! First of all, sorry about my English.

I have been playing mkv movies using bsplayer + ac3filter for a long time, connected to a usb card  Sound Blaster X-Fi  5.1 (It was really hard to make it work)

Two days ago, I update my bsplayer to 2.41 and ac3filter to 1.61b, and now, when i play a movie, and go to the ac3filter config, the option use spdif is disabled. (before i used passthrough). So my receiver only plays two speakers.

What can be happening? why spdif is disabled?

This make my crazy.

Hi, thanks for your attention.

Tonight will post decoder info here.
I must get the decoder info while it is decoding?

Just another information. Using spdif_test i get this results:

DirectSound test:
  48000Hz support: YES
  44100Hz support: no
  32000Hz support: no

In the system tab i´m using prefer ac3 filter, and in default audio renderer  i tried both direct sound and wave out (wave out sound louder).

Thanks.

nikitakalagin thanks for your answer.

What do you mean by activating spdif?

I think it is, because, powerdvd and windvd use it with normal blue-ray discs.

Thanks.

I thought you could enter SPDIF menu in AC3 config, so... Try to use other player instead of BSPlay, for example Media Player Classic. And configure it like this.

Nikitakalagin thanks again.

I could enter to the spdif menu in AC3 config. The problem is that in this menu, the use spdif option is disabled (i need this option in passthrough mode)

I think the same problem will happen with other players, i will try anyway.

'Disabled' means that current state of SPDIF output is 'disabled', but option itself works correctly. The reason why it is disabled, you should see in the 'Decoder info' box. So, it's why I'm asking to post it here...

Hi Vale, thanks for your answers.

When i tried to get decoder info... surprise, it starts working. Just for get the info, i play the film used for my tests, but this time, works.
Really strange. I was configuring default wave out or direct sound options, i´m sure i try with both.

Now its workign, with default waveout.

Thanks a lot for your time.

same problem here.. any help?

Input format: AC3 - 48000
User format: PCM32 3/2.1 (5.1) 0
Output format: PCM32 3/2.1 (5.1) 48000

Use SPDIF
SPDIF status: Disabled (SPDIF output is not supported)
  SPDIF passthrough for: AC3 DTS
Use AC3 encoder (do not encode stereo PCM)
Check SPDIF sample rate (allow: 48kHz)
  Query for SPDIF output support

Decoding chain:
(AC3 - 48000) -> Decoder -> (Linear PCM 3/2.1 (5.1) 48000) -> Processor -> (PCM32 3/2.1 (5.1) 48000) -> Dejitter -> (PCM32 3/2.1 (5.1) 48000)
